Privacy
Updated:
This page is about contextator.com, the website you are reading. It is not about Contextator the software: an instance you run serves its own privacy page, describing what that instance does with your documents.
The short version
This site is a pile of static files. There is no account, no form, no comment box and no database behind it. Nothing you do here is associated with you.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything.
Your theme choice — light or dark — is kept in your browser’s localStorage under the key
contextator-theme. It never leaves your device and is never sent with a request. Clearing your site
data removes it, and the site falls back to your operating system’s preference.
Analytics
The site can be configured to load Cloudflare Web Analytics,
which is cookieless and collects no personal data or cross-site identifiers. When the beacon token is
not set — which is the default — no analytics script is emitted at all. You can verify which is the
case by viewing the page source and searching for beacon.min.js.
Server logs
The site is served by a static host. Like every web server, it processes the request data it needs to answer a request — IP address, user agent, requested path — under the host’s own retention policy. No additional logging is configured by this site.
Third parties
| What | When | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| The static host | Every request | The request itself, as above |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Only if a beacon token is configured | A cookieless, aggregated page view |
| GitHub | Only when you follow a link to the repository or the wiki | Your visit to GitHub, under GitHub’s own policy |
Fonts are served from this site’s own origin, not from a font CDN, so no third party sees your visit just because the page has type on it.
Your data
There is nothing to request, correct or delete, because nothing about you is stored. If you believe that is wrong, write to [email protected].
